Maureen Hanna, 22, of Pleasantville, and Latoya Sotomayor, 36, of Egg Harbor Township, both died in the crash on Nov. 1 on Route 563 in Washington Township, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
Melinda Rosa started a GoFundMe campaign to pay for funeral expenses for her niece, Maureen Hanna.
On Tuesday, Nov. 14, a New Jersey State Police spokesman said there was no update on the cause of the crash. It remains under investigation, Trooper Troy McNair said.
Maureen's family was days from moving to a new residence, Rosa said.
"The unfortunate circumstances have left her parents Robert and Marianne, as well as her brother Sean in a dire situation," she added. "They have used the money they had saved for the move to make arrangements and cover necessary expenses."
Services were Nov. 7, according to Maureen's obituary.
Maureen was recently accepted into nursing school — "an accomplishment she was very proud of and a journey she was eager to begin," her obit said. She was an employee of Ancora Psychiatric Hospital for the past year.
Latoya Sabrina Sotomayor, affectionately known by her family and friends as Toya, graduated from Egg Harbor Township High School, and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies from Thomas Edison State University, her obituary said.
Latoya enlisted in the Army National Guard in January 2010, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class as a Senior Human Resources Non-Commissioned Officer, her obituary says. Her service was held on Nov. 9.
